Student Points Credit Card FAQs
Do I need to have a job to apply for a Student Points Credit Card?
No, you only have to prove the ability to pay your balance, which can come from the following forms of supplemental income, such as allowance from a guardian, grants, or scholarship funds.
How does the Student Points Credit Card help build credit history?
If approved, you can build your credit responsibly with a Student Points Visa® Credit Card by:
- Making all payments on time.
- Paying your balance in full each month (or, if you can’t, at least pay more than your minimum due each month).
- Avoiding carrying a balance: you’ll have to pay interest on any purchases or amounts you don’t pay off each month.
Late payments, failing to pay at all, or other negative activity with your Student Points Credit Card could hurt your ability to build credit.
How old do I have to be to apply for a Student Point Credit Card?
Applications are accepted for any student in post-secondary education who are aged 18+.
What's the difference between a Student Points Credit Card and a regular credit card?
Regular credit cards are typically designed for people with an established credit history. These differ from our Student Points Credit Card, which is designed with students in mind who may have little to no credit and are enrolled in a post-secondary education institution.
Can I apply for a Student Points Credit Card without a credit score?
